Ways to Work Together
Whole-body support across Osteopathic treatment, embodiment training, and personal development. Located in Brisbane, QLD and online.
-
Hands-on care for pain, tension and movement.
Osteopathic treatment offers one-to-one, hands-on care focused on movement, musculoskeletal function and the management of pain and tension.
Grounded in anatomy and physiology, sessions work with the musculoskeletal, lymphatic, circulatory and nervous systems to improve movement and quality of life.Osteopathic care may be appropriate for people experiencing persistent muscle and joint pain, tension, headaches associated with posture or stress, post-injury rehabilitation, or spinal and joint stiffness. Treatment is collaborative, consent-based and responsive to your comfort and needs on the day.
-
Also known as the “Somatic Release Ritual” or mindful massage.
Using warm oil and deep tissue technique, each session moves slowly and intentionally through the body's stress response and the places where stress and tension commonly take up residence in muscle and fascia.
Breathwork and mindfulness cues are woven through the massage at each area, inviting the nervous system to shift and the tissues to soften, rather than simply being manipulated into release.

FAQs

Some practitioners treat the symptom. We treat the system.
Jenelle brings over 12 years of combined experience in the fitness, wellness and rehabilitation space. She is a dual-qualified osteopath and exercise scientist, completing postgraduate training in mental health and neuroscience. This means your care isn't siloed — it spans the body, the nervous system, and the patterns keeping you stuck.
This is trauma-informed, evidence-grounded care for people who are done being told nothing is wrong or, they just need to “stress less”.
-
No referral is required for general osteopathy or coaching appointments.
However, eligible patients may receive a Medicare rebate of $63.40 for Osteopathy appointments under a GP Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan. CDM services are subject to Medicare eligibility criteria and GP approval. Please check with your GP to confirm eligibility and collect referral requirements. -
Your first appointment will include a detailed medical history, a physical assessment and treatment (for osteopathy), or an intake and onboarding conversation (for coaching), with a discussion of your goals. You’ll leave with a clear plan, personalised recommendations, and an understanding of how we’ll work together to support your body, mind, and overall well-being.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Bring any relevant medical records or notes about previous treatments. For coaching, consider what areas of your life, body, or relationships you’d like to explore or improve. Ensure you are in a quiet, private space that feels safe. Come with an open mind and a willingness to engage with your body, breath, and awareness.

Great question, and one I get a lot.
Therapy and counselling typically work primarily through talking — processing thoughts, exploring history, and building insight through conversation. That work is incredibly valuable when learning to name and articulate what you’re experiencing - for some people, it's exactly what's needed.
Somatics work differently. It's body-first, sensation focused, drawing attention to whats felt deep in your heart, your bones and the rest of your body. This is called interoception - a sensory skill that can be developed. This is where the unfiltered truth lives.
My training is in manual medicine, neuroscience, mental health and exercise science, so the lens I bring is body focused — we work with the nervous systems default activation patterns, posture, breath, the movement and vocal patterns that your body has learned to repress and express.
A lot of what keeps people stuck isn't purely cognitive — it's traced through the body as emotional tension, bracing, and habitual physical responses that logic alone won't shift. So rather than only talking about what's keeping you stuck, we work with it directly — through embodiment practices, manual release, and structured mindful and developmental coaching that helps you build new patterns that you can feel the difference in, not just understand intellectually.
Some clients do both — somatics & coaching alongside their clinical psychology appointments — and find the two complement each other well, since we're working on different layers of the same picture. This isn't a replacement for mental health treatment, and if something comes up that's better supported by a psychologist or doctor, I'll always point you in that direction.

Osteopathy and somatic work goes hand in hand, but they're solving different problems.
A regular osteopathy appointment is focused on the clinical picture of the body in front of me that day — treating pain, restriction, and dysfunction as it presents, session by session. It's brilliant for managing symptoms and keeping you moving well, but it's not designed to dig into why those habitual bracing patterns keep showing up in the first place.
Somatics and coaching offers bigger-picture work.
Instead of treating the muscle tension or pain every time it arises, we go looking for the sensory-motor pattern thats driving it — the way you're holding stress, overriding your own needs, or living in survival mode — and we work on shifting that at the root, over a structured time period.
Much like a fitness program at the gym, somatic skills take time and repetition to develop their strength. Only this type of embodiment work teaches you the skills needed to trust yourself, express your honest feelings and make decisions accordingly.
Somatic work is not clinical treatment, so the sessions look different too: less hands-on, more embodiment work, and building new tools that you can carry with you long after we finish. Some osteopathy clients get a lot of benefit from somatic embodiment work, once they notice the same issues keep returning no matter how often we treat them — that's usually the sign the pattern needs addressing, not just the symptom.
The two aren't in competition; osteopathy keeps your body functioning well in the moment, somatics and coaching change what's driving the pattern in the first place. -
Emotional responses vary; activation can occur; people can pause.
It’s important to remember that an emotional response is not the same as therapeutic progress. That being said, sometimes, when we start paying real attention to our bodies, and the guarded patterns we've been running on for years, repressed emotions can surface.
We move at a pace that you can handle — this isn't about pushing you into anything you're not ready for, it's about creating enough safety that whatever needs to come up, can come up, and be moved through, rather than staying stuck, repressed or avoided.
-
I hear this a lot, and it makes complete sense.
Most coaching and therapy approaches work primarily at the level of the mind — autobiographical insight, mindset, rationalising, reframing and learning new concepts.
And if you're someone who already understands yourself well, who can explain your patterns intellectually but still finds yourself repeating them, that's usually a sign the work hasn't reached the layers where the pattern actually lives — your body's deepest, most raw emotional states.
REDEFINED starts there. We're not just building more awareness (you likely already have plenty) — we're working directly with the physical and physiological patterns that keep pulling you back into old cycles, so the change isn't just something you understand, it's something you can feel and sustain.
It's also worth saying: it's not that your previous work "failed." Everything you've already done has laid groundwork, even if it didn't create the shift you were hoping for on its own. This is often the missing piece, not a do-over.
-
Somatic work invites you to slow down and bring awareness to needs and emotions that have been suppressed — often without you realising it.
Working with the whole person, including the fascial system as well as the emotional and relational patterns held within it, sessions may include gentle touch, breath-work, movement, guided visualisation, paced to what your body and nervous system can process.
The purpose of this work is twofold: to clearly identify the needs that have been repressed, and to build the practical skills to go and get those needs met — in your relationships, your work, and your daily life.
Because everybody carries different history and different needs, no two sessions look the same. That's why we begin with a pre-screening conversation: it allows us to understand your background, ensure this work is appropriate for you, and tailor the approach accordingly.
These are emotional wellness and emotional fitness services, they are not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
Though many people describe feeling more clear, calm, and more capable afterward, though as with any body-based work, experiences are individual and will vary from person to person. If you're unsure whether this is the right fit for you, we're happy to talk it through before you book.

Life happens, and I get that.
If you need to move a session, just give me at least 24 hours' notice via text or email and we'll find another time that works. That notice period also means I can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist, so it's a win for everyone. The one thing I do ask you to keep in mind: if you are enrolled in a program, coaching sessions need to stay no more than two weeks apart to protect your momentum and results. This work builds week on week, so bigger gaps make it harder to keep the progress going.
If a reschedule would push you past that two-week window, we'll problem-solve together to find something sooner rather than let too much time slip by (and risk old patterns creeping back in)! -
